Yall Come Back is open source (MIT). Run it as your own rental website on your domain. This is normal website hosting, not a separate app-store product. Keep your brand. The software is free. Listing on the hosted marketplace is a paid product. This path is different from platform branded hosting, where Yall Come Back runs the site for you.
Who self-host is for
- Hosts who move an existing brand site and want their own domain and website hosting.
- Operators who prefer not to pay monthly platform hosting fees.
- Hosts who will use a web person or host support to install the site package. You do not need to manage databases yourself.
Put it on your website
1. Choose website hosting
Choose hosting that can run a full website on your domain. You can use your current host, a managed website host, or a VPS with support. If you do not want to manage hosting, use Yall Come Back paid platform hosting instead.
2. Point your domain
Use the same domain that guests already know. Update DNS with A or CNAME records so the domain points to the new site.
3. Install Yall Come Back for websites
Install the free Yall Come Back website package (download link at launch). You can also ask your web person or host support to install it. You get the same booking and listing tools as the platform.
4. Add your brand and stays
Upload your logo and photos. Write your about text. Set nightly rates, seasons, house rules, and calendars.
5. Publish and welcome guests
Publish your listings. Guests book on your website. Listing the same stays on the hosted Yall Come Back marketplace is a paid product ($12 per listing / month), or included in the $25 / month branded website plan.
Technical install notes for developers (code, server commands) live on the open source page. They are not required for day-to-day hosting decisions.
Marketplace and brand
- Marketplace is optional. Self-host can join the hosted Yall Come Back marketplace ($12 per listing / month), or stay on your domain only. Marketplace listing on this site is a paid product.
- On this site — Register at Host a Place, publish listings here, and turn marketplace on under Brand & website.
- Your own copy of the software — Create a free self-host account here. Then use a marketplace key if you want those listings on Find a Place. See Marketplace syndication key.
Payments on your website
Find a Place stays always use card. Your website uses the default you set in Dashboard → Payments. Calendar stays use the method you pick for that stay. Mark cash, bank, and in-person card paid in Admin. When guests pay by card, the processor fee comes from your payout. Yall Come Back does not pay that fee.
Self-host does not pay a Yall Come Back hosting invoice. Paid platform hosting is a different path. See Payments and deposits.
